oh audrey- how i love you.

my sister jenny sent me this amazing picture today of audrey hepburn mid-leap. photographer philippe halsman is famous for capturing famous people when they jump, thinking that when people jump they let out their individual personalities. this articletalks about him a bit more.

a few more for your enjoyment...

we love you so

if you haven't seen 'where the wild things are,' you're definitely missing out. one of the best movies i've seen in a long time. beautiful, tragic, innocent, outstanding. one of my absolute favorite things about this movie it the blog that director spike jonze created to promote the movie. what i love about this blog is the creative and personal approach to things that are associated with the movie but also things that are just creative and interesting to spike. 'we love you so' is definitely a must-read.

vintage glamour

the irony of the cheap polaroid with the glamorous woman is just delightful. i would love to be her.

peacock blue inspiration

my sister and i have extremely similar tastes in music. one of our favorite things to do is find some random inspiration and create an entire playlist based on that one thing- whether it be a color, an object, time of day, event, etc. this week's "inspiration" happened to be the color peacock blue. when i think about that color i immediately think of the words rich and bold with a twinge of sadness. faded or vintage blues come into mind along with ideas of water and feeling cool. Here is the playlist:

Your Rocky Spine- Great Lake Swimmers
Oxford Comma- Vampire Weekend
Be Somebody- Kings of Leon
Inspiration Information- Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings
59th Street- Amy Correia
Hazy- Rosie Golan and William Fitzsimmons
Slow Motion- David Gray
Hard to Handle- Otis Redding
Moon River Cha Cha Cha- Henry Mancini
Songbird- Rosie Thomas
Lua- Bright Eyes
Deep Blue Sea- Grizzly Bear
Backstage With the Modern Dancers- Great Lake Swimmers
5 Years Time- Noah and the Whale
Helpless (live)- Over the Rhine
Waterfall- Without Gravity
I'm Ready- Tracy Chapman

Enjoy!
